Designed for industrial, communications, and robotics systems, these rugged board-mount filters deliver exceptional differential mode noise suppression in a compact footprint—streamlining EMI compliance and boosting system reliability.

Compact EMI Filters

TDK Corporation has launched the TDK-Lambda RGF series — compact, board-mount EMI filters designed to meet the demanding requirements of high-input current power supply applications. Engineered for industrial and commercial environments, these 20A and 40A filters provide outstanding differential mode noise suppression, helping system designers streamline electromagnetic compliance with CISPR and related global standards.

The RGF filters are built around the company’s advanced component technology, delivering robust performance. Encased in a rugged 5-sided metal housing, the filters are fully encapsulated to handle harsh conditions. They are equipped with two threaded and two non-threaded mounting holes for flexible integration and improved thermal dissipation — making them ideal for both conduction and convection-cooled systems.

The key features include:

  • Ultra-compact footprint: 52.8 x 35.2 x 12.7 mm
  • Wide input voltage range: 0 to 80V
  • Handles transients up to 100V for 100ms
  • Broad operating temperature: -40°C to +120°C (standard)
  • Extended thermal endurance: up to +125°C with accelerated cycling

Whether in harsh industrial settings, COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) platforms, or precision test and measurement systems, the RGF filters shine. They’re also well-suited for high-reliability communications equipment, broadcast hardware, and modern robotics — all environments where EMI management is critical.

When paired with non-isolated DC-DC converters, the filters deliver broad-spectrum differential mode attenuation, reducing system-wide noise and simplifying EMI compliance efforts. They offer resilience in power-variable environments. The RGF series has passed stringent thermal cycling tests (700 cycles, up to 60°C/min ramp rates) and meets MIL-STD-810G standards for both shock and vibration. These filters are engineered for mission-critical deployments where durability is non-negotiable.

With compact dimensions, high attenuation performance, and rugged build quality, the RGF EMI filters offer a highly efficient and space-saving solution for noise-sensitive, high-current applications in demanding environments.
